Confirmation
Confirmation at First Lutheran Church is our way of supporting parents in the promises that they made when their children were baptized. Confirmation involves youth in 6th, 7th and 8th grades, and the milestone of "Affirmation of Baptism" which takes place in May of 8th grade. This ministry includes education, team building, fun, and experiencing what it means to be faithful disciples of Jesus Christ. It is an intentional time for developing relationships, deepening faith, and learning more about what it means to be a Lutheran Christian.
In order to use this time to the fullest, Confirmation utilizes several outlets. During Sunday school, students explore the Bible, and discuss what it means in their life today. We will also spend time in class studying the Small Catechism and other important topics. In addition, students develop relationships and complete a service project each year. Through all of this, the ultimate goal of this ministry is to nurture, educate, and prepare disciples to work in God's kingdom today and throughout their future.
